If I read the calender right, we'll get the June solicitation on Monday night. So what will it be? A likely bet is "Challengers, V1", but will there be an additional volume? Will the first Elfquest book be listed? Another DCU book? A factor to consider: that slipcase edition of "League of Extrodinary Gentlemen" is scheduled for June (it was advance solicited a few months back). But if we are having 14 DCU volumes, they have to double up sometime. My picks: IP: Logged |

If I recall the GA Superman chronological story list correctly, both Superman in Action #4 and Superman in Worlds Finest #1 would have stories older than Superman #6. Plus you would think work for Superman in WF#1 could have been done in conjunction with Batman in WF#1.... Consequently. my vote will be: Challenger of the Unknown #1, and IP: Logged |

I'll go out on a wobbly limb, and guess: Challengers v1 Rob IP: Logged |

June isn't quite as good a sales month for most comic shops as July, August, November and December usually are, and if it was me doing the scheduling, June would be my fifth choice for a month with three high-end hardcover releases. But if there were to be two DCU Archives in June, I'll guess Challengers 1 and some Golden Age volume, probably either All-Star 9 or whatever the Superman book for this year is going to be--Superman in World's Finest 1 for preference. So even if the League slipcase is also in June, it gives a nice spread--early '40s, late '50s, and late '90s material, about as non-competitive within itself as could be managed. IP: Logged |

Can someone point me to a link about the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen slipcase? I seem to have missed that announcement. Is it too much to hope it'll be a vol 2 hardcover in a slipcase with room for the hardcover of vol 1 I already own? Why do I have that feeling of dread that tells me I'm being asked to buy vol 1 again? My money for June is on Challs vol 1, with All Star 9 as a likely wild card extra. I'm sure those who keep track of publication dats will prove me wrong, but I always think of All Star as a summer archive.

Hopefully a Golden Age archive - so far this year has been top-heavy with Silver Age archives - a worrying trend - my guess is Starman #2 or All-Star #9, although Superman #6 is a possibility. IP: Logged |

Any time I'm poised to help people out with information, BillNolan always seems to beat me to it. That's a compliment, Bill!I'm still not sure if I can afford the $75 tag on the slipcase League, but I missed the boat on the ABC hc, so I might try to find the money somewhere. My Archives guess past Challengers? Hmmm....I'm gonna go Superman #6. ------------------ IP: Logged |

My guess: DC decides to drive me to the poor house by releasing everything at once: Challs volume 1 (whew) IP: Logged |

I think I'd rather see Action 4 as well. But pragmatically, I'm guessing S:WF. Chris IP: Logged |

With all due respect to DStepp and the quality of his info, 14 DCU volumes in a year for me falls into the category of "too good to be true until I see it with my own eyes." Accordingly, my prediction is that we'll get Challengers #1 and that's it for DCU volumes. Perhaps we'll get Elfquest, but no more DCU. Obviously, I'd be thrilled to be wrong about that. If we were to get 2 DCU volumes, I'd have to think (certainly hope) that the other would be GA. I also doubt we'll see two new series debuting in the same month, especially with as many new series as we've already seen this year. That narrows the field. It's been way too long since we've seen a Superman volume, so I'll say Superman #6. IP: Logged |

After hours of study and regression analysis, I'm boldly predicting we get the Challs on June 4th, then a double-dip in July: All-Star 9 on July 2nd, and Supergirl 2 on July 30th. Each planned DCU archive release from Feb. to May has been spaced 4 weeks apart, so I'm going with this trend until I'm proven wrong (which based on past history, won't be very long in coming). Woo hoo! I'm a winner! Superman #6...cool. While it would definitely be nice to see fast forward movement via Action or Superman in World's Finest, it's also nice to sit back and watch the glaciers move. Just think- if a Silver Age Superman Archives were to start with #125 or so, we only have 100 more issues to reprint to bridge that gap! ![]() Also, correct me if I'm wrong you page-counters out there, but this will be the last "4 issue block" of Superman Archives. Vol. 7 will start up with 5 issues, due to slightly smaller page counts. That goes on for about 3 or 4 Archives, when we start to get 6 issue blocks (which goes on for a long time.) I can't wait to read the story where he "lifts the spirits of a suicidal baseball player." ------------------ IP: Logged |
